(This picture was taken our first morning)
What they knew:
1) there was something coming that they may want to save their allowance for
2) they suspected it was a trip - to Utah
3) they thought we were getting up early Saturday morning to go work on the stake farm
My parents spent the night the night before and my Dad got up early with us to "go to the farm" but then we took an exit and headed to the airport. I can't say they were overly excited at this point, but they were curious. They figure out we were not going to the stake farm and that this was the trip.
Then when we checked in Liam noticed we were going to Orlando.
"WALT DISNEY WORLD!"
My Dad had dropped us off at the airport. We arrived in Orlando, rented two cars because we no longer fit in one car and it's cheaper to rent to full size cars than a minivan. We drove to our time share and checked in. Next we went grocery shopping. Then Alec left by himself to "run an errand"
When Alec returned from his errand I had the boys come out on the balcony. They kept asking what they were supposed to be looking for and I said they would know when they saw it... sure enough. When Grandpa and Grandmama rounded the corner (Alec had picked them up at the airport) there were all kinds of squeals of delight!
I don't know if I will ever try and pull off a surprise trip again, but it was fun for the time being.
The timeshare was perfect.
About 10 minutes from Disney Parks
Three full bedrooms (two with King beds, the other had two doubles)
Three full bathrooms
Kitchen
Family and eating area
Three separate balconies
Pool and spa open until 11 - so even after late nights at the park we could still come home and soak in the hot tub.
Very nice!
Six days in the parks.
Hewy, Joseph and my parents first time in the parks.
What will the kids think the next time we tell them we are going to the stake farm - and we really do? :)
